Packaging Standards #

The Seller shall package every product securely using packaging materials of appropriate quality, strength, and durability suitable for the nature of the product and the conditions reasonably expected during transportation.

There are no mandatory restrictions on the type of packaging material used, provided that the packaging adequately protects the product from damage, moisture, dust, tampering, crushing, vibration, and normal transit risks.

The Seller shall ensure that:

(a) the product is properly cushioned and secured within the package;

(b) the packaging is suitable for the weight, dimensions, and nature of the product;

(c) the outer packaging is non transparent;

(d) the outer packaging does not display the Seller’s brand name, logo, promotional material, advertisements, or any unauthorised markings;

(e) all shipping labels, airway bills, and documentation prescribed by LX INDIA are securely affixed before dispatch; and

(f) any packaging guidelines issued by LX INDIA from time to time are strictly followed.

The Seller shall be solely responsible for any damage, shortage, contamination, tampering, or deterioration resulting from inadequate or improper packaging.

Seller Packaging Guidelines and Prohibited Packaging Practices #

To ensure a consistent customer experience, protect customer privacy, prevent off platform transactions, reduce shipment related issues, and maintain marketplace standards, all Sellers shall strictly comply with the packaging requirements prescribed by LX INDIA.

(a) Prohibited Transparent Packaging #

The Seller shall not use transparent or semi-transparent outer packaging, covers, bags, or wrapping materials that allow the product to be visible from outside. The outer packaging shall completely conceal the product during transportation to protect customer privacy and prevent product identification during transit.

(b) Prohibited Branded Packaging #

The Seller shall not use outer packaging materials displaying:

  • Seller business names, logos, trademarks, or branding;
  • Manufacturer or third-party promotional branding;
  • Marketing messages, advertisements, slogans, or promotional content; or
  • Any unauthorised markings intended to promote the Seller or any third party.

The Seller shall use plain, neutral, and unbranded packaging materials unless specifically approved by LX INDIA.

(c) Prohibited Inserts and Promotional Materials #

The Seller shall not include promotional or marketing materials inside any package, including but not limited to:

  • Seller business cards;
  • Brand promotional cards;
  • Marketing brochures, flyers, or catalogues;
  • Discount coupons directing customers to external websites or platforms;
  • QR codes linking to external websites, social media pages, or seller communication channels;
  • Thank you cards containing Seller branding or contact information;
  • Promotional gifts intended to encourage off-platform purchases; or
  • Any material that attempts to establish direct commercial communication between the Seller and customer outside LX INDIA.

Product manuals, statutory documents, warranty information, or other documents required under applicable law or manufacturer obligations may be included, provided they do not contain unauthorised promotional material or encourage off-platform transactions.

(d) Seller Contact Information Restrictions #

The Seller shall not include any information inside the package that enables customers to directly contact the Seller, including:

  • Mobile or telephone numbers;
  • WhatsApp numbers;
  • Email addresses;
  • Website URLs;
  • Social media handles or usernames;
  • QR codes containing Seller information; or
  • Seller store, warehouse, or business addresses.

Only LX INDIA approved customer support information may be provided where applicable.

(e) Product Identification and External Marketplace References #

Product labels and packaging shall contain only information necessary for logistics, product identification, and legal compliance.

The Seller shall not include:

  • Unauthorised pricing stickers;
  • Promotional messages unrelated to order fulfilment;
  • References to other marketplaces or external selling channels; or
  • Materials directing customers to purchase products outside LX INDIA.
(f) Invoice and Documentation Requirements #

The Seller shall include only the invoices and shipping documents required for order fulfilment and applicable regulatory compliance. Such documents shall be issued and maintained by the Seller in accordance with applicable laws and LX INDIA’s platform requirements.

The Seller shall not include handwritten notes, personal communications, promotional documents, or any material requesting customers to contact the Seller directly.

(g) Packaging Quality Requirements #

The Seller shall ensure that all packaging:

  • Uses clean, strong, and durable packaging materials suitable for the product;
  • Provides adequate protection against moisture, dust, tampering, impact, and transit damage;
  • Includes suitable cushioning for fragile products;
  • Is securely sealed using appropriate packing materials; and
  • Uses appropriate packaging size to minimise unnecessary movement of products during transportation.

Any package violating these guidelines may be rejected, returned, delayed, cancelled, or subject to penalties, recovery of costs, suspension of listings, or other actions available under this Agreement.

Nothing in this Section shall restrict the Seller from displaying mandatory product information, statutory declarations, manufacturer details, batch numbers, expiry dates, MRP, or other disclosures required under applicable laws.

LX INDIA reserves the right to modify, update, or introduce additional packaging guidelines from time to time, and the Seller shall comply with such updated requirements.
