Unbranded or Generic Products #
An Unbranded or Generic Product is a product that does not carry an identifiable brand name, trademark, manufacturer brand, or other proprietary brand identity on the product, packaging, or applicable labelling.
This may include loose products, agricultural commodities, unlabelled handmade products, plain garments without brand tags, and other products that are genuinely sold without a brand identity.
Listing Requirements #
If a product is genuinely unbranded, the seller does not need to create a brand name simply for the purpose of listing the product on LX INDIA. Such products should be listed under the brand name Generic.
A genuinely generic product does not require brand approval, a trademark certificate, or brand authorization.However, sellers must not use the name, logo, trademark, or other identifying elements of an existing third party brand in connection with a generic product. Sellers must also not create or use a false brand name simply to improve the visibility or discoverability of a listing.
